As many of you know, I have the privilege of serving as the Subject Coordinator for the University of Melbourne’s Law School subject Taxation of Superannuation (https://handbook.unimelb.edu.au/2026/subjects/laws70267). This week and next, Daniel Butler and I are delighted to be back on campus teaching this intensive subject to a new cohort of students.
This subject has always held a special place for us. It brings together and professionals who are genuinely curious about the complexities of Australia’s superannuation framework – particularly the nuanced world of SMSFs, which the subject focuses on extensively. When the subject runs every two years, we are fortunate to work with an engaged group of participants who bring sharp questions, thoughtful discussion, and a shared enthusiasm for the topic. Their energy consistently elevates the classroom experience.
